Another beautiful show from Paris, the always very highly anticipated Valentino, has sent some very ornate pieces down the runway, some of them on the border of couture. This wasn't a humble or subtle collection, it spoke clearly about where the designers drew the inspiration from - mythology- this time around.
Imagine the fringed cape on the first picture thrown over a white shirt and bleached boyfriend jeans, or a white T with some of those colorful embroided skirts and a pair of black or nude flats...
Now, Ethnic and 'pagan' isn't usually something that I would go for, but there was quite a few pieces I would easily see in my closet.
A wonderful collection where Chiurri and Piccioli show of their artisan skills and in the same time widen the range of who the Valentino women is.
And in the era where many houses seem to go downhill with, that is a good thing buisness-wise.
